Inside Omar Chaparro's Inesperado album
Omar Chaparro is widely recognized for his work in comedy and film, but heâs continuing to expand his creative reach with music. The multi-talented entertainer is now preparing to release his fourth album, Inesperado, a project that reflects both his artistic versatility and personal inspiration.
The album features 18 tracks, 17 of which Chaparro produced and co-wrote himself. Among them is a standout salsa song titled âRazones Obvias,â showcasing a different musical direction. When asked about the inspiration behind exploring salsa, Chaparro said he left it to God to give him the songs for this album. He explained that when he sat down to write, he felt God sent him a mix of different genres.
One of the albumâs most popular tracks so far is âTe Mereces.â The song carries a personal message, written for women who struggle to see their own worth. As Chaparro describes it, itâs dedicated to those who âno se alcanzan a ver con nuestros ojosââwomen who may not fully recognize their value and who have endured relationships where they were not respected or appreciated.
Chaparroâs music career unfolds alongside an already extensive film rĂŠsumĂŠ as he has appeared in more than 30 movies. Recently, he has been balancing multiple major projects, including the release of his album following two films, La Celda de los Milagros and Venganza. La Celda de los Milagros reached No. 1 on Netflixâs global non-English chart, while Venganza has ranked among the Top 5 worldwide. Chaparro has also shared that his role in Venganza has been his favorite so far. Despite the demanding schedule, he admits that work can âpile up,â but he manages it by focusing on one project at a time; currently prioritizing his album launch.
With Inesperado, Chaparro continues to prove that his talents extend far beyond the screen, offering audiences a more intimate look at his voice as both a musician and storyteller.
